Juniper's at The Wildflower Inn
Lyndonville, VT

Juniper's is the newly named restaurant associated with the Wildflower Farm Inn
in Lyndonville, VT. Yankee Magazine's Travel Guide made
the inn its Editors’ Pick 2001 saying "This grand old 21-room inn high on a
1,000-foot ridge welcomes families with warm hospitality and tons of kids’
activities...... the gardens are famous, the dining room is notable for its
eclectic cuisine, and the rural scenery and recreation is top-notch."
Restaurant Solutions was contacted in the
spring 2003 by the O'Reilly family to discuss concept and menu changes to its
food service operations at the inn. In particular the family wanted to increase
dining visitations from local residents, and to simultaneously increase the
dining frequency of its inn guests, mostly families, who typically stay at the
inn for a week or more each visit.
We developed a new menu for the inn which
reflects New England farm cuisine (locally raised meats and produce) and
included a children's menu to appeal both in price and quality to the families
staying at the inn. We also trained a new kitchen staff to execute the menu, and
made kitchen layout and equipment modifications to increase efficiency. The
result...a dramatic increase in both local "outside" dining and increased guest
dining frequency.
